About
VCU Brandcenter celebrated the opening of its new location in January 2008. The architect Clive Wilkinson — famous for his work for Google, Disney and some of the leading creative ad agencies — transformed the historic 27,000-square-foot Central Belting Building into a bright, open, unique space that encourages both fresh thinking and collaboration. Fusing exposed wooden beams and brick walls, wooden floors, and an original elevator with bright green floors, a metal staircase, an upstairs patio, ping-pong, pool and foosball tables and roll-up doors has resulted in an educational space that demands creativity.
The Brandcenter formally dedicated the building as Mike Hughes Hall in 2010.
